The New Jersey department of aging provides elderly community
services:
- New
Jersey Nursing Home Ombudsman:
Family member or
friends of elderly residents in New Jersey's long- term
health care facility can contact the NJ Long Term Care Ombudsmen about
incidents of abuse, neglect
or exploitation.
The office investigates, resolves and/or refers complaints to the appropriate
agency. Callers may remain anonymous. For more information call (609) 943-4023

- New
Jersey Adult Protective Services / Elder Abuse Information
Report abuse, neglect and/or exploitation of elderly New Jersey residents. Complainants
may be clients, caregivers, family members, agencies or any interested or
involved individuals. All information is made confidential.
- New
Jersey Office of the Public Guardian
State agency that makes legal, financial and healthcare decisions for individuals
age 60 and older who have been determined by a Superior Court judge to be

Site provides basic information about caregiving, links to community
resources for caregivers and other caregiver resources and services

Jersey Long Term Care Options - Community Choice
Community Choice helps senior citizens,
persons with disabilities, nursing home residents and hospital patients
explore various community-based alternatives to long term care
in New Jersey, including: in-home services, housing alternatives,
and community programs.
- New Jersey Medicare Counseling
The State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) provides free help to
New Jersey Medicare beneficiaries who have problems with,

- New
Jersey Housing Programs
Provides
services to low-income elderly persons residing in subsidized housing
facilities in New Jersey. The services offered include: meals provided in
a group setting, housekeeping, personal assistance and case management. 609-943-4060
- Adult
Day Health Services in New Jersey
Medically supervised, health-related services provided
in an ambulatory care setting to persons who are non-residents of the
facility.
- New
Jersey Respite Care Program
This program provides respite care services for elderly and functionally
impaired persons to relieve their unpaid caregivers of stress arising from

Jersey Alzheimer's Adult Day Services
The New Jersey Alzheimer's Adult Day Services Program partially subsidizes
the purchase of adult day care services for persons with Alzheimer's disease
or a related
