The Pennsylvania Department of Aging oversees
many services and benefits to senior Pennsylvanians - most provided through
the 52 Area Agencies on Aging.
- Pennsylvania Medicare Prescription Discount Cards
Most Medicare beneficiaries are now able to enroll in Medicare-approved
prescription discount cards. Enrolling in a discount card may save you money on the cost
of your prescription drugs.

Prescription Drug Program-PACE / PACENET
Senior citizens can go online to apply for Pennsylvania's prescription
drug program. The program offers comprehensive prescription coverage to certain
seniors.

The Pennsylvania department of insurance provides objective consumer
information on all types of insurance sold in the state. Consumers can
access insurance brochures online. The Long Term Care Insurance
information section has a list of approved long term care policies in Pennsylvania,
a sample long term care policy, and detailed long term care insurance
information brochure.
Consumer can also view the Pennsylvania Medicare
Supplement Insurance information section which includes approved Penn
Medicare Supplement Plans, plan comparisons, deductible information,
and Pennsylvania Medicare coverage outline.

The Pennsylvania Health Department reviews, inspects
and licenses: nursing home facilities, home
health care agencies, hospitals, hospice sites,
and intermediate care facilities
for persons with developmental disabilities.
The Division of Nursing Care Facilities licenses
and oversees Pennsylvania's nursing care facilities. It also maintains
the Nurse Aide Registry allowing you to check the
status of any nurse aide. The Pennsylvania Department of Health maintains
programs including cancer
prevention and control programs, diabetes programs, drug and alcohol
programs, emergency medical services, immunization programs, and publishes
a variety of health publications for the general public.
