The Illinois department of aging provides great long term
care resources for seniors citizens, the elderly and family caregiver resources,
including:
- Illinois
Family Caregiver Support Program
Find an Illinois
caregiver
resource center for family caregiver programs, caregiver support
groups and training, caregiver respite care, and for supplemental services. The
program provides valuable assistance to the family caregivers in gaining
access to State programs.
- Grandparents
Raising Grandchildren Program:
This program locates, assists and promotes awareness of older caregivers
who are currently raising their family's children.

Elder Abuse Prevention & Legal Service
Works to prevent abuse, neglect and financial exploitation of senior
citizens living in Illinois.

Long Term Care
Ombudsmen
The Illinois Long
Term Care Ombudsman Program protects and promotes the rights and quality
of life for people who reside in long term care facilities (nursing
homes). File a complaint or report elderly abuse in a Illinois long
term care facility or Illinois nursing home.
- Illinois Senior Centers
Provide opportunities for socialization, relaxation
and participation in a variety of programs and activities.Services
include: congregate meals, transportation, education,
counseling, legal assistance and health screening.
